Ideally situated in the Yufuin Onsen district of Yufu, Yufuin Tsuru no Yu is situated 1 km from Kinrinko Lake, 23 km from Beppu Station and 35 km from Oita Station. Nice quiet corner beside a river with running water sounds, beside a rice Paddy field facing mountain views. Breakfast is great, Japanese style with many small dishes serving. Imagine after a morning spring bath your breakfast is ready to serve you that feeling is so great.

Okuyado Buaiso has mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, set in Yufu, 41 km from Oita Bank Dome. There is a private entrance at the ryokan for the convenience of those who stay. This is very unique place to have a relaxing time with family and friends. I enjoyed the breakfast and diner in hotel restaurant. I can say that the level of food is like an art. After you enjoyed the dining there, you will fall in love with this hotel. Enjoying the hot spring is also very special moments. Every staff is very friendly and kind to help the customers. I really enjoyed this hotel and I wish that I could come back to this place in someday. Thank you to all staffs.

Providing city views, Beppu Kannawa Onsen HIROMIYA is located in the Kannawa Onsen district of Beppu, 26 km from Oita Bank Dome and 5.5 km from Beppu Station. The rooms were spacious and very traditional, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful! The location was close to for example Hyotan Onsen and the Jigoku sights as well as Kannawa bus station for easy access to a quick trip to Myoban as well. Every morning we got boiled onsen eggs outside our door and there were filter coffee bags and hot water in the kitchen. Miho went out of her way to help us out at every turn!

Featuring 3-star accommodation, Yufuin Onsen Tsukanoma is situated in Yufu, 43 km from Oita Bank Dome and 1.8 km from Kinrinko Lake. Absolutely amazing onsen. A definite top 5 for me. We got the room with a private one and it was simply so amazing to have that within seconds of your room. Also it felt like the water in the private in room onsens had much more minerals than the large one but the large one is well worth a stay too as it feels so free to be the only one there and gazing upon the mountains as you bathe.

Assi in Yufu provides adults-only accommodation with a garden and a shared lounge. The property features garden and inner courtyard views, and is 43 km from Oita Bank Dome. Assi sets the bar for guesthouse in my book. Not only is Assi comfortable, they made my experience in Yufuin more comfortable enjoyable. The place is convenient, well decorated, homey, got all the necessities prepared, comes with Onsen bath, and there’s a cute cat waiting for you to come back.

Boasting mountain views, Ikkoten provides accommodation with an open-air bath, a garden and a shared lounge, around 45 km from Oita Bank Dome. The location and serenity were like none other. The staff was so kind and provided an incredible atmosphere. The food was 12/10, I would go back just to try more seasonal favorites.

Situated in Hita, Okuhita Onsen Umehibiki offers 5-star accommodation with a garden and a bar. Featuring a restaurant, the property also has an open-air bath, as well as a sauna and a hot spring bath.... This is my best accommodation experience in Japan over the years. They made every effort to ensure that guests understood the hotel's details and services, even though not all of the staff spoke foreign languages fluently. Comfortable rooms, breathtaking views, and a personal hot spring are highlights. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meals. A dedicated private room was available during dinner. Visit again for sure.

Karatsu Seaside Hotel offers accommodation in Higashi Karatsu. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. Each room at this hotel is air conditioned and is fitted with a flat-screen TV. I had a great sea and mountain view and I had the pleasure of watching beautiful sunrise from my balcony. This hotel was more luxurious than I thought. The room was very spacious. The spa was also top notch.

Featuring a spa bath, Shikinosato Hanamura is located in Minamioguni. This ryokan provides free private parking and a 24-hour front desk. The room is spacious. The amenities are adequate. The staffs are friendly and helpful also can speak English.

Situated in Aso, 42 km from Kumamoto Castle, Syukubo Aso features accommodation with a public bath. It’s very comfortable with original ryokan atmosphere. Food was excellence both dinner and breakfast. You need car to get there but it’s worth it.
