The hotel is located alongside the Rive Kent and has the most lovely vibe because of it, even when overcast, rainy and cold. The Reception, breakfast and property staff were helpful, professional, accommodating and excellent to deal with. My room was very comfortable and the bathroom was clean, well appointed and the heated towel rack is wonderful. The bed was comfortable and the bedding is very clean and of a good quality. The breakfast is a highlight ( the Chef made me porridge, no sugar, no cream, just plain hot porridge ) it's possibly the best breakfast overall at a hotel I've had in quite a while. Being in easy walking distance to Kendal high street, associated shopping and eateries, pubs, cafes, local transport, The Riverside makes for an ideal landing pad for visitors and business people alike. I'd love to return for another stay and spend more time in the district exploring the beautiful Cumbrian countryside, villages and towns. Worth noting: the local food, bakery and coffee adds to the daily charm of Kendal.

The location is very suitable for driving and is just next to the main road leading to Kendal. The hotel is situated next to a farm shop and surrounded by green pastures. The staff are very friendly, and pets are welcome. The restaurant is amazing, and source local produce for the food and beverages.

Excellent apartment with everything you need for self catering plus great food and drink in the bar and restaurant. A special mention for Polly who sorted out a problem with the apartment we booked and gave us another larger one at no extra cost or fuss. Thank you Polly..lovely stay.

Kendal is sometimes an overlooked gem of a town, with many interesting places to visit with historic interest & a hive of culture.
We especially enjoyed the ease of getting to the Brewery Arts Centre for a concert & all on offer there.
Being into 'real ale', the Factory, was a valuable find, near to the river. (Nice pizza on a Friday evening too!) A haven for dog owners!
We visited the Art Gallery, had coffee/tea there & were spoiled for choice at the cakes for sale. Friendly staff there & an very interesting selection of modern art, photography & traditional art.
Recommend a walk up to the castle for a wonderful vista of the area.
Great connections by bus to the southern lakes & western lake district too.

The town of Kendal is great and this flat is well located to access the town centre etc.
I was disappointed with my accommodation as a very poorly equipped kitchen, poor water pressure in kitchen sink, tacky decor and bizarre unintelligible smart door handles.

Kendal has lots to offer visitors and is an ideal place to stay, away from the crowds in the central Lakes. Lots of walking accessible by good public transport, avoids taking the car and trying to find somewhere to park. Plenty of shops and places to eat, especially Corner 124 where you can enjoy an excellent meal.
The location was good for getting into Kendal or onward to Windermere area, nice views. Staff were friendly thought menu slightly expensive maybe should have cheaper bar menu variation. Used the taxi firm on key fob to go into Kendal for excellent Thai meal and they were very prompt both going and coming back with reasonable price.Top floor would be struggle for anyone with mobility issues as very steep climb. All in all nice stay enjoyed the bar
Beautiful hotel with lots of character, really comfy and cosy room decor with lots of small touches. Amazing views of the fields and mountains, perfect location for Windemere and Kendal. Lovely bar and breakfast area with balcony overlooking the views, and a serve yourself type bar. The bed was large and soft, smart TV with Netflix etc, rooms quiet and dark. Full English breakfast was quick and well cooked. Overall a really peaceful stay.
My sister and I enjoyed a couple of days here whilst in the area. We found it to be very clean, comfortable, our twin room was spacious and had everything we needed. Large car park, well located and five minutes from the town. The hotel was very pleasant, quiet and relaxing. The staff were absolutely lovely, very accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend if you are visiting Kendal.
Location. A short walk into town. Parking facility. In a public car park but one gets a hotel voucher to display in car. Always plenty of spaces. Well equipped room. Nicely decorated. Nice big movable tv. Large cupboard and plenty of drawer space. Two chairs to relax in. There is a lift if one can’t use stairs. Very friendly lady on reception with an easy manner to chat to.
The owners could not have been friendlier and Richard was brilliant at giving suggestions of things to do in the area. The room was spotless and very comfortable and the breakfast really set me up for the day each morning. The B&B is within a short walk of the bus station, which is great if you don't have a car. I would definitely recommend this place!
The property was a perfect weekend haven in a fantastic location for Kendal and the surrounding areas. It was spotless and the facilities were outstanding. The host had really thought about the lay out and the use of the space. The host went above expectations with communications and even posted something we had left behind.
The property was set back off the road which meant the rooms were lovely and quiet. The room was spacious and the bed was so comfy.
The location was perfect with quite a few local walks for you to start right in Kendal without having to drive.
Breakfast was lovely the next morning and staff couldn’t do enough for you.
location was lovely and very convenient to travel to kendal and surrounding areas. Easy access. McDonalds, Costa and WHSmiths on site. the view was very nice. This place could be a lovely hotel if it was upgraded and had a breakfast room - of this was the case we would be happy to visit again.
Super clean and tidy, it has everything you need. Beds are very comfortable, bathroom has nice shower with good water pressure. It’s located next to Kendal in a nice quiet area, at a short drive from the Lakes. Sara was always quick and helpful for any request, great communication.
Such helpful and friendly staff. Great food, reasonably priced in the pet friendly pub restaurant. Close to the main shopping area with free parking. Comfortable beds and nice big towels. Just a really nice experience and excellent value.
The house is in a great location, only a short walk from Kendal centre and really close to Romneys which does excellent food on an evening. Everything was nice and clean and the host Matt was brilliant too.
Great location - very quiet but easy short walk into Kendal and also very good location for getting into the Lakes. Very comfortable and warm and had everything needed for a short or longer stay. All great
location was excellent, short walk into Kendal. The views from the site were beautiful. Very nice to have Alexader's pub on site but separate to the hotel bar. Staff were lovely.
lovely hotel central to Kendal. opposite train station. probably wrong choice for us as walking The Dales Way but clearly popular with coach parties. friendly staff.
